Skin Disorders

For skin that clears on creams and returns when you stop

Typical duration: 3–6 months for chronic presentations

What this programme is for

Chronic skin disease often follows a familiar cycle: a topical steroid clears it, the cream stops, and it returns. Breaking that cycle takes patience and internal work, not only another ointment.

Ayurveda treats many skin presentations as an expression of digestion and rakta rather than the lesion alone. The early weeks can look unchanged while that groundwork is done — we say so in advance.

Eczema, psoriasis and fungal infections are listed from the doctor's notes; exact spellings and the full chronic list still need confirmation before stronger claims are published.

Therapies used

  • Virechana (where indicated)
  • Raktamokshana (where indicated)
  • Abhyanga
  • Lepa
  • Takra Dhara

You may also recognise these presenting complaints:

  • Scaly plaques on elbows, knees or scalp
  • Intensely itchy patches that weep or crack
  • Recurring fungal infections
  • Skin that flares with stress or diet
Sudden severe pain, progressive weakness, loss of bladder or bowel control, chest pain, or unexplained weight loss need emergency assessment, not an appointment. Please go to a hospital.

Sometimes, especially if you are coming off a long-used topical steroid. That rebound can be expected — we will warn you when it applies rather than after it happens.
